a.   Absolutely not! There is no fee for switching electricity service to HINO Electric. Before switching make sure that there no early termination fee with your existing provider.

What is a prepay plan, and how does it work?

a. A prepay plan is where you prepay for the amount of electricity you will use in the month.
b. Load a minimum of $30.00 to start electricity service.
c. Get alerts via Text/Email when your account balance is low and its time to reload.

No, there is never an interruption in your service when you switch to HINO Electric from your existing provider.

Do I have to pay a deposit when I sign up?

For prepay plans there is no deposit required. For non-prepay plans there may/may not be a deposit required based on your soft credit score.

Will there be a fee to sign up?

No, there is no fee to sign up with HINO Electric. Your local utility company may charge a fee if you are signing up service for the first time in your name, or expediting service with the priority move in option.

I was given a deposit, how can I waive it?

You may be eligible to have your deposit waived if you meet one of the following criteria below:

Victim of Family Violence
Texas Family Code §71.004. If you are a victim of Family Violence under the Public Utility Commission of Texas click here.

Low Income Customer
If you are a Low Income customer with the LITE-UP Texas program. For more information or to request an application click here.

Senior Citizens over the age of 65 may qualify to get a deposit waived.
